ST GILES, London - Land Reading
A friend suggested I read the energy of St Giles in London - between Centre Point (Tottenham Court Road tube) and Covent Garden. Wow, how fascinating!
Having lived in London pretty much my whole life, I know the area well - or I thought I did! ‘Don’t research before you go,’ he said. And no wonder I was so tired, after! According to Wiki, ‘St Giles (c. 650 – c. 710) was the patron saint of lepers and the hospital was home to a leper colony, the site chosen for its surrounding fields and marshes separating contagion from nearby London.’ Did you know the 1665 Great Plague reportedly started in St Giles?
Reading the energy, below and above ground revealed a lot. ‘Hollow’ ground, blocked and ‘shunted’ energy portals, the energies of bridleways along Oxford St towards Marble Arch (I later read it was a well known route to the Gallows at Marble Arch), delineated land with the eastern side of the top of Charing Cross Road ‘not supposed to be in Camden’ (the Western side is Westminster Council owned), areas of regeneration supporting a rawness and aliveness to Denmark Street with culture waiting to burst through – in the right hands. (Denmark St feels only temporarily silenced, protected by intention – what other areas lack.)
Charing Cross Road (between St Giles Circus and Cambridge Circus) has a lot of pain on it which needs healing and clearing - a lot of death (which upon learning of the extreme poverty and death made sense). It was an area where you needed to ‘watch your back’, would be ‘round up’ and ‘double-crossed’. (something to be aware of today as energies can still carry if not healed).
The Foyles Bookstore building struck me as ‘haunted’ (different to the general ‘spirits’ roaming) though I couldn’t go inside as all closed for lockdown and the next door ‘Tam O’Shanter’ 1896 has a lot of dormant energy waiting to be revealed... ‘a secret pleasure dome’.
There was so much ‘information’, too much to share here, and such powerful energies, I had to stop after a couple of hours of wandering. Some lovely energies too, such as in St Giles Sq, behind Centre Point, which has a calmness and silence to it. Quite lovely.
I would love to hear your experiences :)
