When the spirit writes

‘Once the heart and soul feel safe, the spirit writes.’

This sums up the journey I have had — for me, how I write. A journey of 15 years or so, as I have slowly healed my heart and opened to my soul. And when we do this, our gifts cannot-not come through. Whatever they are. For me, it seems to be writing and healing … aligning energy fields. Within us, and in the outside world.

‘Dreams are what we create. Destiny is what happens.’

Or, we could say:

‘Destiny creates the unfolding of dreams and dreams lead to destiny.’

Aligning to our dreams is the beautiful work. Especially when we haven’t quite figured them out. It is a process which relies on our heart and soul — a process which can take a lifetime or happen within a heartbeat. An adventure, too — an unfolding mystery. And the Realms will already be within us … guiding us. Even if we can’t see them — yet.

The dance of dreams

One cannot have one’s true destiny if one does not follow one’s dreams. They are guidance points — the navigation system of it all. And a dream may inspire or it may provoke — both, just as fruitful. — Mr P.

My dreams inspire me — and they constantly provoke me. Asking me to tend to ‘the thing’ that once scared me, or I’ve cleverly avoided. Dreams which appear to offer no immediate ‘return’ — but when aligned with, feel inherently true. We can have a fear of following our dreams and a fear of not. Which can be uncomfortable. And get us stuck.

I like Mr P’s quote … of dreams being the navigation system. It invites us to hold them lightly. To be fluid with them, play with them. And enjoy them — especially if we find them challenging. We can choose the dream which is most ‘live’, even if we have to do other stuff in the meantime — alongside it — letting it expand and seep into our life now. Giving it permission to co-create with us.

Because then it becomes a dance — the invisible movement in our daily life. Letting the dream lead. Even in the moments when it’s scary to do so. And we might take a pause.

Before picking it up again.

For all dreams begin in the non-physical — it’s through us they come to life.

I like things tidy — or do I?

I am a virgo and I like things tidy. Which can be a hard habit to crack. For the most part it works for me: I ‘see’ the tidying energetically, more so than practically — and it supports my alignment. But there is a fine line: between ‘completion’ and ‘starting’. The energies are different.

I have been writing my books for many years now, which has recently felt like a completion. Honouring endings is essential for new energy to come in. And there comes a point when we have to ‘let the completion go’; before it is ready and before we are — that magical moment when an invisible portal opens for the shift to happen. It is a moment to give attention to, without giving it energy … so it can happen.

And then, we write and speak and move from the new. Unknown, untidy, within an air of awe.

Starting, starting, starting … as it completes around us.

Held lightly in the background of our awareness.

As I let go and enjoy — and re-pattern ‘messy’ — because after all, I am a virgo :)

Nudged into place

The world has suddenly got ‘busy’ — as have I. My new book is in the final stages before release with lots of mini ‘deadlines’ (a strange word, if you look at the etymology, to describe the release of something) and I am excited. But it’s a fine line … to allow excitement or new activities to pull us out of ourselves while remaining centered within ourself. And I also need reminding at times — like this morning, when contemplating my day, I was nudged by Mr P:

There is much you can do and there is only one thing ‘to’ do: remain in alignment, yes?

Which means doing everything I was going to do today, but differently. Through my heart and soul — connected to Love. A nudge … an inner conversation … and I was clicked back into place.

Mystery Unfolding

And we find ourselves in September …

… amongst the movement and flow of the seasons: of nature and our lives. The non-linear currents, little stagnations, and sudden bursts which can occur, emotionally and practically — as ‘time’ moves toward us, pushing through us, if we open and let it. The beauty and mystery, of time and myself, inviting me towards ‘more’.

Feeling this tussle, I channelled this lovely sentence a couple of days ago:

The departure is inevitable once the arrival has occurred — Mr P.

For me, it echoes the letting go of previous versions of myself now ‘the new’ has energetically arrived at the doorstep. Sometimes the arrival can happen quietly — perhaps, eons ago — now ready to make itself known. And at other times (perhaps simultaneously) it can be heard knocking … for us to let it in. Asking for the former part of us to ‘depart’ — so the new can enter. A notional space in the transition, which can feel like a lot.

A departure ready to happen, before we even knew we were there.

Dolly’s gift to us

When an inspirational person passes into spirit, their wisdom ‘lands’ … becomes more present, and somehow ‘real’. We become touched by their presence; blessed by their gifts and aura. And Dolly Parton’s aura is reaching far and wide … awakening her qualities in us.

And though many of us this week have devoured her witty and wise quotes, I offer two (of the many) today:

“Don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.”

and …

“Leave something good in every day.”

So, as ode to Dolly Parton, what might you incorporate into your life from her aura today? For me, it’s her smile and generosity of spirit. And the creativity of being a woman.
